Further Rent Relief for Commercial Tenancy in Victoria
The Victorian Government has announced that it will extend the Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme (“CTRS Scheme”) until 15 March 2022.
The extended Scheme will be available to businesses with an annual turnover of $10 million or less that have suffered a decline in turnover of at least 30 per cent due to Covid-19.
The new Regulations, once enacted, are expected to take effect retrospectively from 16
January 2022.
Landlords will be required to keep providing rent relief proportionate to the eligible tenant’s fall in turnover.
Eligible commercial landlords that have provided rent relief under the extended Scheme will continue to be supported through the Commercial Landlord Hardship Fund.
