As the COVID-19 situation continues to unfold, it is difficult to comprehend the added emotional and financial distress this global pandemic will have on vulnerable people and families going through separation. Increased restrictions may have significant impact on parenting and financial arrangements as well as circumstances involving family violence.
We understand that the issues many of our family law clients are dealing with are ongoing and do not abate because of the pandemic. However, in these times of uncertainty, please know that if you need us, we are available to help you navigate through these difficult times.
Update for Family Law Matters
The Courts have made changes to the way in which current Family Law and Family Violence proceedings are being dealt with to minimise the risk of spreading the virus to the community.
Whilst the Courts have restricted some of the services they offer, they will continue to provide services to clients in both Family Law and Family Violence areas.
Each of the Courts are constantly updating information on the measures they are taking during this period. If you are involved in current proceedings, you may find the ongoing updates provided on the following websites of assistance:
Many of our clients will continue to have questions on how to navigate urgent issues such as parenting arrangements and the financial issues that flow from separation.
If you require or have been served with an Intervention Order you may also require urgent advice.
If you require any further information or need assistance with Family Law or Family Violence issues please do not hesitate to contact the head of our Family Law team, Lisa Rees.
